Olympus 2249 Field Guide

Early Access / OLYMPUS 2249

What is in Early Access?

Quick answer

The launch includes Act 1: the first hub and surrounding areas. The developer estimates 3–7 hours per run; later acts are planned as free updates.

Olympus 2249 launched in Early Access on 6 October 2026. The initial release contains Act 1: the first hub city and its surroundings. The developer estimates 3–7 hours per run, depending on play style, and encourages another playthrough for different branches. The longer 20–25-hour figure is a target for the full three-act game.

The launch centers on the first hub and nearby locations. Later acts expand the journey beyond this opening area.

What is playable now?

The developer describes core gameplay as present at launch, with polish and content to follow. That includes the character system, karma-driven choices, exploration and combat. It does not mean every planned location or perk is finished.

The roadmap says perks are complete through level 5. It lists work on random encounters, interface elements and vendor inventories. If planning around a later perk or a particular vendor resource, check the current build rather than relying on a promotional screen.

Replay value comes from different characters and solutions. Another profession or karma type can open a route absent from the first run. That differs from having the whole three-act story available today.

How long is the launch version?

Use the 3–7-hour range as an estimate, not a promise. Dialogue reading, exploration, build choices and time spent solving navigation problems affect your result.

The full-game plan is three acts and around 20–25 hours for one playthrough. Those hours should not describe the current purchase as if all content were playable. Additional acts are planned as free updates, according to the developer's launch-content answer.

Planned milestones

These are roadmap targets as of 8 October 2026. Dates can change.

Target periodPlanned work
First month after launchHotfixes, translation editing, expanded settings including UI scaling, customization and vendor adjustments.
April 2027Major content patch: Paradise's faction districts, side quests, further perk work and encounters.
Around October 2027Act 2 completed, about one year after Early Access starts.
Around April 2028Act 3 outside the interior of Olympus Tower.
Around October 2028Act 3 including Olympus Tower, about two years after launch.

Monthly reports do not mean everything discussed that month becomes playable immediately. Work on Paradise's first street begins earlier, while the playable addition belongs to the planned April 2027 patch.

Launch problems to keep in mind

The roadmap names these hotfix priorities as work in progress:

  • Clicking a ladder while the Creditor approaches can lock player control.
  • Councillors can remain outside a door during the Perfect One meeting.
  • Allied shots can hit the player in close combat.
  • Typing feedback can trigger gameplay menus or combat shortcuts.
  • Camera rotation with Q/E is being smoothed.

Keep a manual save before a sequence that can lock control. Avoid placing your character in an ally's firing line when another position is available. Separate a control lock from a profession requirement that simply denies a route.

The prologue guide explains the latter: sewer and mask access have specialization conditions. The combat guide covers positioning around allies.

Quicksave and interface scaling

The developer agrees with the quicksave request and says it is planned. Do not assume F5 works because a player requested that key. Use the saving options available in the current menu.

UI scaling is also planned. A developer reply advises a player needing larger text to wait for the first patches, with scaling targeted within the first month. If readable text determines whether you can play, wait for the option and check what it offers.

The roadmap names more detailed audio and input-device settings too. A target does not replace checking the actual menu after an update.

Controller support, Steam Deck and macOS

The developer says controller support is already in the game. That establishes native support, but not a Steam Deck performance result or Verified rating. For a purchase depending on a particular handheld experience, inspect current Steam compatibility information and recent device reports.

For macOS, there are no plans at present; the developer says it will not be considered before full release. The Windows schedule is not a promised macOS launch date.

Do you need Olympus 2207 first?

No. The lore diary says the stories stand on their own. Returning players can recognize references, but following this game's events does not require the earlier game.

Radius is the region around Olympus Tower, Paradise is a major city, and the hero starts in the southwest among the Gatherers. For the practical opening sequence, use the first-run guide.
